Ms. Abigail J.C. Chapman: Senior Research Scientist

Abigail Chapman recently joined NSI as a Senior Research Scientist. In this capacity, she provides innovative, research-driven solutions to the challenges in human, social, and cultural behavioral modeling. Prior to joining NSI she worked for DGI, Inc where she used findings from neuroscience to augment and refine social psychology findings on issues of concern to the military, intelligence, and national security communities. While at DGI she designed an innovative multi-method approach using neurogenetics, social-cognitive psychology, and neuroscience to identify possible changes in neural anatomy, stress reactivity, and emotional and executive processing of stimuli in military personnel suffering from PTSD and severe depression. Prior to DGI, Ms. Chapman worked at RAND where she worked on numerous projects for the Intelligence Policy Center.

In addition, she offers an international perspective gained through the course of extensive travel and study in Europe. Ms. Chapman earned her MA in Applied Social Psychology and Evaluation from Claremont Graduate University. Her BA is in International Studies, with a focus on United States Foreign Policy and European affairs from American University.
