Gianna Courtois is an Analyst at NSI, Inc. Before becoming a full-time employee at NSI, Gianna worked as an intern while completing her MA in International Development at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. This perspective, along with her educational background and experiences, led her to author a NSI Quick Look report on child soldiers for USAFRICOM as part of its Anticipating the Future Operational Environment (AFOE) effort. Prior to her time at NSI, Gianna was a Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Togo, West Africa. She lived and worked in a remote village on projects dealing with education, gender, health, and agriculture. Gianna has also worked with refugee integration programs in both Arizona and Colorado. In addition to her MA in International Development, Gianna has a BA in Global Studies with a Minor in Sustainability from Arizona State University, focusing on the influences of culture and religion on decision making as well as cross-cultural communication.
