
Nathan Heath
Senior Research Scientist
Nathan Heath is a Senior Research Scientist at National Security Innovations (NSI), where he specializes in emerging technology risk, AI integration, and security cooperation. He has authored influential reports and created complex models for an array of government and commercial clients. Nathan also serves as a regular AI Safety Consultant for OpenAI and Anthropic, and has held fellowships with BlueDot Impact, the Truman National Security Project, Foreign Policy for America, and the Hertog Foundation. He is a widely sought after subject matter expert on topics such as defense cooperation and AI safety, and he has spoken or written in venues including the University of Cambridge, War on the Rocks, and World Politics Review. Prior to NSI, Nathan held a variety of roles, including at the U.S. Department of State, Harvard Law School, the U.S. House of Representatives, and tech startups on three continents. Nathan holds an M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School, where he was a SYLFF Fellow, a Kaplan Scholar, and helped lead the Fletcher Political Risk Group. He lives with his family in the Research Triangle, NC.
