
George Popp
Senior Analyst
George Popp is a Senior Analyst at NSI, Inc. His research focuses on issues of national security, international relations, and emerging conflict environments across the globe. As part of the NSI team, George supports both government and commercial initiatives. In the government realm, he has spent over a decade working as part of the US Department of Defense’s Strategic Multilayer Assessment (SMA) program. In this role, George provides research and analysis at the direct request of decision makers within the US national security apparatus. He also established NSI’s Survey for Eliciting Expert Knowledge (SEEK) offering, which is a rapid crowdsourcing initiative for capturing the collective wisdom of the SMA community on critical questions of national security interest. In the commercial realm, George has supported business intelligence analyses for clients in the video game industry. George earned his BS in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and is currently pursuing an MA in Public Policy, with a focus on peace and security, from the School of Global Policy and Strategy at the University of California, San Diego.
